Episode 65: The Amazing Healing Power of Doodling

Download

Doodling or doing art can be a means of therapy for us to release our stress.

I don’t know about you, but in school, art for me was a source of severe stress and anxiety because my work was never as good as everyone else’s.

So the mere thought of going to an art class or showing anyone some art that I may have done isn’t something that I’m naturally drawn to doing!

During one of Jane Whittred’s art classes for children, one of the mums suggested that she hold classes for Mums. With wine. So Jane did just that, and the classes were a huge hit.

Then in 2016, her youngest child was diagnosed with Asperger, he was asked to leave his school and began self-harming at the age of 12. At the same time, a close friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She put her business on hold to take care of her son and deal with everything that was going on in life.

She now runs online art courses with an emphasis on getting the whole family involved, parents as well as children.
